Purchasing Analyst
Salary: Dependent on experience
Introduction & Job Purpose
To support the Head of Purchasing and wider Audley team with:
- Analysis of tariffs/rates/prices and other key commercial terms submitted as part of direct and indirect category tender processes
- Annual rate reviews
- Cost benchmarking
To enhance Audley’s analytical capacity and capabilities in support of achieving the best possible commercial terms for all products and services that the business purchases.
Responsibilities
- Analysis of commercial proposals (including tariffs/rates/prices, overrides/spend rebates, marketing support, staff travel support, listing fees etc.) submitted by suppliers during the DMC (Destination Management Companies) tender process
- Annual rate reviews for Audley’s key DMCs and other direct hotel/excursion/transfer relationships, validating or challenging as appropriate proposed increases from suppliers
- Tariff adherence analysis, taking responsibility for spot checking/systemising rates paid vs. contracted
- Analysis of commercial proposals for indirect categories, principally Marketing, IT and Recruitment
- Occasional ad hoc analysis to support wider Audley Product and Commercial Finance teams.
Location / travel
- Flexibility to work between Audley’s two UK offices in London and Witney
- Potential for occasional travel to Audley’s US office in Boston and various long-haul travel locations during DMC tender processes
Person Specification
- Degree educated (Upper Second Class and above), from a recognised university
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to commercially interpret analysis and make observations/recommendations
- Experience of working with large pricing data sets
- Good time management skills with ability to manage multiple workstream simultaneously
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision on occasion
- Be comfortable working within a matrix structure as part of a global team with multiple stakeholders
- Ideally with a Travel sector background, with specific experience in working with accommodation, excursion and transfer tariffs/rates
- Proven experience as an Analyst
