Infrastructure Systems Administrator

Salary: Dependent on experience

Audley Travel is currently looking to appoint an Infrastructure Systems Administrator to support the Infrastructure Manager and Infrastructure team with IT infrastructure projects, monitoring and troubleshooting hardware and software, maintaining existing systems and providing second/third line IT support.

The Infrastructure Systems Administrator will take full responsibility for all projects agreed by the Infrastructure Manager and be capable of dealing with people at all levels.

Duties will include:

  • Third line IT support and escalation support for first/second line teams
  • Leading infrastructure implementation projects
  • Supporting the migration from On-Prem/ VMware to Azure
  • SAN Management and Storage Configuration
  • Virtualisation – VMware and Azure configuration/support
  • Testing of hardware and software updates
  • Creation of plans for hardware installations and maintenance
  • Server hardware support, maintenance and upgrades
  • Maintenance and upgrade of Anti-Virus systems
  • Hardware & software inventory management and licensing
  • Network security and firewall management
  • Backup planning and maintenance
  • Network configuration, maintenance and setup
  • Working with third party vendors
  • Other tasks and projects as defined by the Infrastructure Manager or the business.

This role may require some after-hours work subject to business needs and will share responsibility with other IT team members for answering escalated urgent IT issues out of office hours.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent with a solid understanding of IT
  • Previous experience of working within a first and second line IT support role is essential
  • Organised and able to effectively prioritise
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative
  • Able to constantly deliver a friendly and approachable “customer facing” attitude even when under pressure.
  • Demonstrates a keen interest in the IT field in general
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Competencies:

Essential:

  • Microsoft Azure Administration including Azure AD/Azure Active Directory Connect
  • Microsoft Windows Server to 2019 Administration and build
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Domain Infrastructure
  • Microsoft Group Policy configuration
  • VMware vSphere 6.x & 5.x administration
  • Understanding of firewall configuration/security principles (Meraki knowledge desirable)
  • Core networking skills (Cisco)
  • Office 365 including Microsoft Teams Administration

Desirable:

  • Citrix – Xen Desktop
  • Storage/SAN management/ISCSI configuration/Storage Networking
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Wireless Networking experience (preferably Meraki)
  • VPNS, DNS, DHCP, MPLS and other network services
  • Sophos AV
  • SharePoint
  • Lansweeper
  • Backup and disaster recovery principles and best practices
